If there is one room to stay in when visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, it is the Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Resort Riverside. The hotel itself is absolutely charming with a calm atmosphere. But for an extra cost, you can stay at the Royal Guest room and experience some magic.

When booking through the Walt Disney World site, there are different views to rooms and each price will vary. The standard view is the least expensive, then it moves up with wood view, river view, and the pool view as the most expensive. I've done both the river view and the wood view, both were really nice but the river view was amazing.

However, each Royal Guest room contains the same thing. As soon as you enter the room there is a circular table that has a letter from Princess Tiana welcoming you to the room and pointing out how she has decorated the place with gifts from her friends.

Definitely fun things to pay attention to as you look around the room and see all the small details.

There is so much more hidden details spread throughout the room. Just have to look carefully and you might see some things from your favorite Disney princesses.

Each room also has two queen beds that have a magical headboard of the bayou from The Princess and the Frog. The one thing I loved doing was pressing a button on the side of the headboard which then made the bayou light up with fireflies and fireworks.

So although it is a bit more expensive to stay the night in the Royal Guest Room, the hidden details and magic make it worth it. The WDW resort usually has promotional sales during certain seasons so you can get a good deal to stay at the hotel. I usually call and ask them if they have any sales going around and the Cast Members have always been super helpful.
